☀️(Re)Introducing SHINE PV: Advancing Europe’s Photovoltaic Manufacturing

As SHINE PV enters its second year, we’d like to take this opportunity to (re)introduce the project and share our mission with everyone who recently joined our community.

SHINE PV is an 𝗘𝗨‑𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 project working to strengthen Europe’s photovoltaic manufacturing leadership through next‑generation, industry‑ready technologies.

🔬 Over four years, SHINE PV is developing and demonstrating innovative back‑end manufacturing solutions for Silicon Heterojunction (SHJ) and TOPCon solar cells, with a strong focus on:

• reducing manufacturing costs,
• increasing efficiency,
• lowering the use of critical raw materials such as silver,
• and accelerating the transition to sustainable, low‑carbon energy systems.

⚡ Our goal is to increase solar cell and module efficiency while cutting the cost of ownership by up to 10%, helping European PV manufacturers stay competitive in the global market.

Together with 17 European partners and 6 associated partners, SHINE PV is turning cutting‑edge research into industrial reality.
